Jung named this coming into psychic balance as the process of Individuation.<\/p>\n<p>This five-day workshop will focus on ways that individuals can enrich the process of their own individuation through Jung\u2019s method of \u201cActive Imagination.\u201d\u00a0 This method requires one\u2019s focused attention to connect to and release emerging psychic energies arising from the unconscious into expressive form.\u00a0 Participants will make use of various modalities including\u00a0 conceptual reflections, journal writing, image-making, expressive movement, and shamanic ritual.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Monday, 16 June 2025<br \/>\n<\/span><strong>Dreaming your Life Vision Into Being: Shamanic Practices and Individuation with Doris Klinkhamer and Lynn Hynes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Carl Jung held that our psyche seeks its own wholeness in our lifetime by engaging in a process of making that which is unconscious conscious in order to live our unlived lives \u2013 a process he called individuation. The Q&#8217;ero shamans also believe that our life&#8217;s work is to return to our &#8220;healed state&#8221; by engaging in a dynamic relationship with earth-based practices and rituals to expand consciousness. Join us as we explore together from a depth psychological perspective and from shamanic practices to begin to vision your life purpose into being as we explore ourselves through ritual, ceremony, dreaming, shamanic journeying, and reflection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Describe how Jung\u2019s psychology and shamanistic practices inform the relationship between the ego to the unconscious in service to individuation.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize shamanic practices to create a dialogue between one\u2019s ego complex and the archetype of the Self.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Doris Klinkhamer, MA, LCSW<\/strong>, is a graduate of the Clinical Training Program &#8211; Jung Institute of Chicago.\u00a0 She has a private practice in Chicago, integrating her work as a trauma-informed psychotherapist inspired by shamanic wisdom traditions. Doris leads retreats and lectures on Jung and Shamanism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lynn Hynes, <\/strong><strong>MA, PhD<\/strong> in Depth Psychology, is a psychotherapist in private practice in Indianapolis. Informed by the work of C.G. Jung and the intersectionality of his writings with shamanic traditions, Lynn leads retreats, and workshops to facilitate healing and growth in the natured world.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Tuesday, 17 June 2025<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Embodied Resourcing Through Image Making with Leyla Bell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this workshop, we will explore the interrelation and interconnection of psyche, soma, and inner images, through conscious body movement, image-making, and reflective writing.\u00a0 Participants will call on a new kind of inward attention to explore feeling states, kinesthetic sensations, intuition, and body awareness, toward meaningful new encounters with the self.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Apply creative expressive arts and somatic movement practices to access emotional states and increase self-awareness, empathy, intuitive knowing, and embodied consciousness.<\/li>\n<li>Observe, describe, and analyze images, symbols, metaphors, somatic states, psychological complexes, and other unconscious dynamics.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Leyla S. Bell, PhD, LMFT, ATR-BC<\/strong>, explores the intersecting fields of analytical psychology, creative expressive arts, and somatics, with particular interest in the interrelation and interconnection of inner images and the lived body.\u00a0 She is a 3-yr candidate in the analyst training program at the Jung Institute of Los Angeles and is in private practice in Santa Monica, CA.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wednesday, 18 June 2025<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Writing from the Depths with Amy Champeau<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this experiential workshop, participants will learn and practice methods of deep reflection and self-expression to enhance their process of individuation. Through the use of breathwork, meditation, somatic practices, and a series of timed writings, we will explore the process of active imagination by deepening our attention and connection to images arising from the unconscious and allowing those to speak.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Use creative expression to access unconscious material.<\/li>\n<li>Use somatic tools and inquiry to interact and work with complexes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Amy Sprague Champeau, LMFT, MFA, SEP<\/strong>, is a Zen priest, writer, bodyworker, certified spiritual director, and Jungian analyst. She is a graduate of the Jung Institute of Chicago. Her work addresses the intersection between trauma, the body, individuation, and spiritual development.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Thursday, 19 June 2025<\/span><strong><br \/>\nPsyche\u2019s Cabaret: Where Active Imagination and Ritual Performance Meet with Maude Davis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Engaging in the transformative dynamics of ritual, this workshop expands on Jung\u2019s method of active imagination through the lively performance genre of cabaret. Improvisational theatre games will illuminate symbolic contents of the unconscious. Our psychic explorations will be actualized in the form of a carnivalesque cabaret featuring various art forms \u2013 storytelling vignettes, puppetry, movement, and song. \u00a0Activated at the moment of performance, the group\u2019s role as witness is essential for the therapeutic process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Describe Jung\u2019s method of active imagination and its relationship to the transcendent function.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize the process of developing and presenting a cabaret as a therapeutic tool to support the process of individuation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Maude Davis, PhD(c), RDT, REAT<\/strong>, is a doctoral candidate in Expressive Arts Therapy at European Graduate School and diploma candidate at the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich. A clinician in private practice, Maude is a therapist-director of Autobiographical Therapeutic Theater pieces. She developed a Jungian-based Drama and Expressive Arts Therapy technique: Psyche\u2019s Cabaret.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Friday, 20 June 2025<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>The Inner Dance: A Jungian Approach to Argentine Tango with Wendy Balconi and Marc Adams<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this workshop, Argentine Tango will be used as an allegory to engage an embodied perspective on deepening one\u2019s access and relationship to an experience of \u201cthe self.\u201d\u00a0 We will present the origins of body-oriented psychoanalysis and the relevance and value of an embodied perspective. Specific focus will be placed on the integration of somatic practices designed to facilitate enduring transformation. This workshop will also include a lived experience of these concepts in order to support the integration of this material.\u00a0 As Jung stated, \u201cOnly if you first return to the body, to your earth, can individuation take place, only then does the thing become true.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Discuss the origins of body-oriented depth psychology and examine the art and practice of embodied methods.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze the process and development of the ego-Self Axis from an embodied perspective utilizing Argentine Tango.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Wendy Balconi, PhD, LCSW<\/strong>, is graduate in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, specializing in somatic practices and the creative arts.\u00a0 She is in private practice in Scottsdale, AZ.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marc Adams, LMSW, MBA<\/strong>, Is a licensed social worker in private practice, specializing in existential counseling with a Jungian approach in Scottsdale, AZ.
