Stutsman, Deborah

Deborah P. Stutsman, LPC, ATR-BC

Deborah’s classically-oriented psychoanalytic training was birthed out of her direct experience and felt sense of the power of image to transform Psyche. Symbol, image and their stories generate from the all-knowing but unknown realm of the Unconscious through dreams, image-making in all its varieties, encounters in nature, and in each person’s unique expressions. By honoring and following these soul clues along one’s journey in partnership with the analyst, trust in the process and in oneself builds. A stronger, more cohesive, freer and creative self can emerge. Deborah’s background in art and art therapy profoundly inform her theoretical approach to Jungian analysis.

Deborah received her degree as a Diplomate Jungian Psychoanalyst at the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago in 2016. She is a member of both the Chicago Society and the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts. She holds a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis, a Masters in Art Therapy from SIUE, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. At the Chicago Institute, Deborah has served as Chair of the Public Program Committee, on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Training Committee, and on various candidate monitoring committees. She is a past president of the C. G. Jung Society of Saint Louis, and an adjunct professor at the Brown School of Social Work, Washington University in St. Louis.
