Peter Demuth
President
Dr. Peter Demuth is a Clinical Forensic Psychologist & Jungian Psychoanalyst in private practice. He is an international lecturer, as well as an instructor at the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago and has published numerous papers on such subjects as ego strength, the individuation process, and psychopathy. He is a singer-songwriter with 8 full length albums of original introspective folk-pop music and performs regularly in the greater Chicago area. In December of 2023 he released his first book entitled Monsters in Life and Literature. He lives with his wife Karen, 2 cats, and a Golden Retriever in Evanston, Illinois and has an adult son Noah who recently graduated from Western Michigan University.
Mary Dougherty
Vice President, Chair of Public Programs
Mary Dougherty, MFA, ATR, NCPsyA is a Jungian psychoanalyst and art psychotherapist in private practice in Chicago. She is former President, Director of Training, and chair of the Program Committee of the Jung Institute of Chicago, former President of Chicago Society of Jungian Analysts, and served for eight years on the Executive Committee of the Council of North American Societies of Jungian Analysts. She is contributing editor to the Journal of Jungian Theory and Practice and has numerous publications in Analytical Psychology. She lectures on the clinical implications of gender, the use of active imagination, and on the impact of Jung’s thought upon creative development and artistic production.
Grady Vaughan

Grady Vaughan is a retired Professional Engineer, BS in Engineering from North Carolina State University. He has been a Board Member of The C. G. Jung Society of St. Louis since 2012.
Boris Matthews
Secretary
Boris Matthews, PhD, LCSW, NCPsyAÂ graduated from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago, and maintains a practice of analytical psychology in the Milwaukee and Madison, WI, areas. He is particularly interested in working with persons who recognize need to develop a balanced adaptation to the “outside” and to the “inside” worlds, work that involves awareness of the individual’s psychological typology. Dreams, active imagination, and spiritual concerns are integral elements in the analytic work, the ultimate goal of which is to develop a functioning dialog with the non-ego center, the Self. He has served as the Director of Training of the Analyst Training Program, regularly teaches classes for analytic candidates, and conducts study groups in Madison as well as by video conference.
Andrea Gaspar
Co-Director of the JPP/JSP
Andrea Gaspar, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist practicing in the Chicagoland area with a focus on the treatment of trauma and sexual abuse. She has served as Co-Director of the JPP/JSP since 2021 and co-developed and co-directed Memories, Dreams, Reflections: Exploring the Depths in 2021. Dr. Gaspar was also a Fellow of the Jungian Psychotherapy Program (2018–2020) and a graduate of the Jungian Studies Program (2014–2016). Her current research is focused on collective psyche and trauma, cultural exploration of psyche and politics, and women’s individuation process and mythology.
Laura Monschau
Director of Training
Laura Monschau, PhD, is a Jungian analyst and clinical psychologist with over twenty-five years of service in higher education. Her clinical specializations are in social justice, intersectional feminist theory and psychotherapy, trauma-informed analytic practice, and graduate student mental health. Laura works at the University of Michigan’s Counseling and Psychological Service and Rackham Graduate School, where she is a senior clinical supervisor and educator in the pre- and post-doctoral training programs. Laura provides psychotherapy for university graduate students and maintains an analytic private practice in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is a graduate of the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago’s Analyst Training Program.
Dyane Sherwood

Dyane Sherwood, PhD is a Certified Jungian Psychoanalyst and a Child and Adolescent Analyst (International Association for Analytical Psychology), a Teaching Member of the Sandplay Therapists of America, and a Licensed Psychologist. She has a private practice in Evanston, Illinois, and consults with individuals and groups via video-conference.Â

Vladislav Å olc, MS, LCPC, CSAC, ICS is a Licensed Professional Psychotherapist who provides individual, group, couples and family therapy (counseling and psychotherapy) in Whitefish Bay (Milwaukee and Glendale, Wisconsin).

Barbara Wahler, LCSW, OblSB is a psychotherapist and has been operations manager at the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago since August 2022.

Ben Law
Creative Services Manager
Having worked at the Institute since 2007, Ben has developed an interest in improving its digital infrastructure to include podcasting, social media, and creating as seamless an online experience as possible.
Ben manages the online infrastructure of the Institute. He is the Institute’s webmaster, creator of the website, Jungianthology Radio, the online library catalog, and all new digital projects at the Institute. He edits and uploads recordings of classes to our online store and provides customer support should you have issues with your purchase, download, registration, or CE quiz.
