This lecture is part of the conference Chaos and Change in Organizational Life. Co-sponsored by the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago and the NTL (National Training Laboratories) Institute, this conference explores the contributions Jungian psychology can make to understanding the depth and complexity of organizational life in times of change and the contributions that the applied behavioral sciences can make when Jungian perspectives are incorporated.
The chaotic and confused nature of the process of change is the prime material from which productive workplaces are built. This conference offers a clearer understanding of how coming to terms with the power of the unconscious can bring dignity and meaning to workplaces and empower people who work in them to gain a greater knowledge of the Self and organizational issues of productivity, creativity, and quality.
The conference includes the following lectures:
Marvin Weisbord is co-director of the non-profit Future Search Network (FSN), which
he and Sandra Janoff founded in 1993 to engage consultants and local
leaders in voluntary social change. The Network has members on every continent,
collaborating to help people improve their lives in the arts, business,
communities, education, environment, health care, social services,
technology, and other sectors. They have trained more than 3000 people in
Future Search and managing large diverse groups–in Africa, Asia, Europe
and North America. They also manage Future Searches and consult
with anyone who wishes to make a difference in their community or
company. He is an emeritus member of the European Institute for Transnational
Studies and a fellow of the World Academy of Productivity Science. Since
the 1980’s he has been a resource faculty member in the Organization
and Systems Renewal Program, formerly at Antioch University in Seattle
and now housed at Seattle University. He also participates as visiting
faculty in the doctoral program in Organization Development at
Benedictine University, Lisle, IL.
